Problem
Single man purchased a home and it was too feminine. Poor quality "cookie cutter" flooring, countertops, appliances, lighting, and fixtures. "vanilla" family room, drab fireplace, window textiles, etc. Master bath had deteriorated cabinetry painted green, fussy mirrors, large tub with dilapidated shower-no personality.

Challenge
Homeowner did not want to start completely over. Needed to make home look inviting with a masculine feel. .wanted to pull out the clients style.

Result
Wood floor installed throughout kitchen and family room to unify the two spaces and make it feel more like a loft. Oak floor sanded and stained dark espresso. Fresh new gender-neutral wall color. Crisp clean white trim. New furniture in rich wools and linens with pops of chocolate, paprika, cream, and navy to add color and life in small amounts. Warm wood blinds and draperies. New countertops, backsplash, sink faucet & refrigerator. Tore out entire master bath-built long walk-in shower- "spa" feel. Floating cabinet with under-cabinet lighting. New solid surface countertop.
Before
Fireplace between kitchen and great room was an eyesore. The bottom ¼ of every wall covered in large bulky radiators. 7 mismatched tables in great room-all heirlooms or antiques that didn't fit the scale of the room or blend with other pieces. A number of assorted chairs in outdated juvenile pastel colors. Several clashing focal points, clutter, and a lack of cohesion.

Challenge
Weed out what to keep and what to let go. Unify the room. Provide a comfortable sitting area to watch tv and for friends to gather and converse. Make fireplace an asset instead of an eyesore. Figure how to work with awkward radiators. As always, help define her "style" and create a space to love.

After
Beautiful built-ins were customized for flat screen tv. Cabinet was enclosed with doors for lots of storage. Crown moldings and trim were added on top of built-ins to conceal unsightly large vents that used to be visible on the wall. Neutral palette was created to sooth the eye and make the space look clean and peaceful. Comfortable, unified look-tastefully addressing the 2 focal points- the tv and transformed fireplace.
Problem
Dated navy, maroon, and gold furniture. Configuration had all furniture shoved against the walls. Large dated fireplace between 2 large windows-challenging for furniture and tv placement.

Challenge
Solve the placement of fireplace and bring up to date. Find a solution for Utilize the natural light from large windows without impairing the use of watching tv. Re-work color palette and blend into other open areas.

Result
Moved fireplace and flat screen tv to the end wall. Put matching large window where fireplace once was- unify other two large windows and make one solid wall of windows. Removed outdated golden oak trim with fresh white to soften and blend with calm new color palette.
