Last week we drove up to visit International Market Square in Minneapolis, which is a large design center filled with showrooms. While there, we discovered a new line of the softest, coziest throw blankets in a variety of beautiful patterns and colors. Goldfinch Blankets is a relatively new company started by Debra Herdman and Caroline Vaaler and is local to Minneapolis. Their textiles are handmade in Nepal of wool, cashmere, and yak.
Love the red chevron edge contrasting with the gray.
The blankets were all incredibly soft and featured interesting details like embroidered paisleys, contrasting blanket stitch edges, and fringed hems. The colors were rich with wonderful depth.
Wouldn’t these be perfect for a nursery?
We think these luxurious throws would make wonderful gifts for a new mother, as a housewarming present or just because. And, we love that by purchasing one, we can support a Midwestern business run by women as well as the craftspeople in Nepal who make them.
You can see more of the Goldfinch Blankets collection on their website.
