Timeless, Personal, Southern Charm
Our design-savvy client knew exactly what she wanted in the remodel and redecoration of her home – a classic, comfortable space to entertain friends and family with a dash of Southern charm and sophistication. R. Cartwright Design selected traditional textile patterns and textural wall coverings to mix seamlessly with transitional furnishings, while color was introduced thoughtfully in each room to incorporate the homeowner’s collection of vintage green pottery. We began by developing new furniture plans, and then laid the foundation for the re-design of each room, selecting new window treatments, lighting, rugs and furnishings that give this newer suburban home the architectural design and detailing of a home built during the turn of the last century.

Neutral, Layered, Natural
R. Cartwright Design designed the great room, entry, dining room and first floor master bedroom in this beautiful home that was outdated in its décor. We began by de-cluttering accessories, simplifying the furniture layout, adding a casual feel to the great room by creating two relaxation areas – a hearth area with sectional and swivel chair and a more intimate reading space by the built-in bookcases – and softening the color palette throughout the main floor. We refinished some existing furniture, provided new upholstery and dining furniture, installed new lighting and restyled the accessories. The final space is airy and fresh, with a distinctly Belgian design aesthetic.

Traditional, Classic, Comfortable
The remodel and addition to this 1920s historical residence was a labor of love for the homeowners. R. Cartwright Design worked with the couple from the earliest planning stages with their builder to help with spatial planning, design elements, and finish selections, through the final implementation of furnishings and lighting that incorporated many of the antiques they have collected over the years. The end result is a classically traditional home that maintains its historical integrity, while also seamlessly blending modern amenities and comfortable elegance.
